OUR STAFF

Our staff team are all US Missionaries through the Assemblies of God. We each have a unique journey with Chi Alpha, and it brings us great joy to serve our students. Our staff hold 1-, 3-, or 5-year commitments with our ministry.  Each staff is affiliated with National Chi Alpha before being regarded as staff.

KHUMBO & LEISA BANDA
Khumbo is originally from California and came to Christ through Chi Alpha when he was a student California State University Sacramento. He has his Master’s degree in Intercultural Studies from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary and completed his Chi Alpha internship at Western Washington University. He has served our ministry since 2017. He married his wife Leisa in 2023 and they serve together as the interim directors of Chi Alpha at Columbus State University. They are passionate about seeing students find their identity in Christ, become disciples and create disciples wherever God may take them. Being from the famous shores of California, Khumbo can heard playing his saxophone at the Chi Alpha house, on stage in worship during Wednesday night service, or at his church.

JAMIE & DON SHORE
As a student at Longwood University in Virginia Jamie rededicated her life to ministry while a part of Chi Alpha. She met her husband Don in Chi Alpha. They both graduated in 2012; Don with a degree in Psychology and Jamie with a degree in Biology. They were married in 2015 and moved to Columbus, Georgia shortly after to serve with Chi Alpha. Don completed his internship with Chi Alpha at CSU in 2016, and served the ministry for many years. He continues to work with students in a marketplace career. Jamie, after volunteering with our Chi Alpha during Don’s internship, stepped into a role as our business administrator in 2018. Their mission is to love and invest in students that the world often overlooks. It is their belief that the Lord places the lonely in families and that through their ministry every student will come to belong in the family of Christ.
